រូបភាពខាងលើនេះគឺ«យក្សថ្វាយដំបង» តាំងនៅរង្វង់មូលជាតំណផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៥ និងផ្លូវទីប្រជុំជន ខេត្តបាត់ដំបង (ស្ពានថ្មចាស់ ឬស្ពានតោ និងវិមានអភិបាលខេត្ត) និងផ្លូវឆ្លងកាត់ទីប្រជុំជនខេត្តបាត់ដំបង តាមស្ពានថ្មថ្មី ឬស្ពាននាគ ដែលឆ្លងកាត់វត្តភូមិពិភិត និងភូមិចំការសំរោង រហូតដល់ភូមិព្រែកលៀប ភូមិម៉ុងចិន និងភូមិចំការចេក ទើបដល់ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៥ តម្រង់ទៅថ្មគោល មង្គលបូរី សិរីសោភ័ណ ។
រូបយក្សថ្វាយដំបងនេះ ស្អាតហើយមានអំណាចណាស់ សមជារូបសំណាកតំណាងខេត្តបាត់ដំបងមែន មិនដូចជារូបឥឡូវដែលសាងក្រោយទេ ។ រឿងមួយដេលគួរឲ្យចាប់អារម្មណ៍ គឺការកែក្រឡៃ រហូតដ់ក្លាយជារឿងមានមហិទ្ធិឫទ្ធិផ្សេងទៅវិញ ។ តើដំណើរដើមទងវាយ៉ាងម៉េច? តើការផ្លាស់ប្ដូរប្រវត្តិកំណើតនៃ ខេត្តបាត់ដំបងនេះមានប្រយោជន៍អ្វី? ត្រង់នេះគួរបងប្អូនជនរួមជាតិជួយពិចារណា ។

I think this giant was praying to preah by presenting his dombong so he can gain more power from preah.
this dombong can destroy armies and can grow long or short, and also, when the giant throw the dombong, it will came back to the giant.
in ancient time, preah dombong was a powerful warrior king. he rule a big kingdom. one day, a man have a destiny to become a king. this man challenge preah kronhoung dombong to a combat.
the giant threw the stick at this man but the stick never came back to the giant. the stick flew away far far away…to this land which we call it battambang, because the stick is never found.
the khmer rouge soldiers destroyed this vimean preah dombong.
hmm…naroth, why dont you make something about BMC….peasaa niyeay BMC? or…anything unique about BMC?
it just a tale. i used to heard about this months ago on khmer radio. and that’s why we called “ losing stick” province.

I am very surprised to see some questions on your web. It is a good chance for us to share good ideas; especially what you wrote about the old and the new status is impressed me so much. Well, let me introduce all of u my brief information. I am Chhuon Sambo, was known as David, a 27-year old -M E student at University of Cambodia and an Educational Volunteer. My homeland is Bateay Mean chey . I use to live in Battam bong for there years. Well, It is also one of the interesting provinces. Mostly I spent my public holiday there to see what I have read in documents, something like; Battambang during the time of the lord governor by Mr. Tauch Chhuong, Travels in the central parts of Indochina (siam), Cambodia and Laos, 1864 by Mr. Henri Mouhot……est. I really like there. I am not for sure about the status but I will try to read more. Do you think the new one was build at the same place? Well, hopefully, we can share the point with you.
